check valves are generally spring and/or gravity loaded to the closed position to insure a
minimum of backflow through the system. Low cracking pressure is standard, but when higher
than normal cracking pressure is preferred, consider a poppet or piston type check valve
with a simple compression spring. Check valve elements are used in the wall of a tank
surrounding the aircraft's boost pump in center walls within a tank or in specially
designed fittings and housings.
